No total, foram entrevistadas 324 pessoas sendo 186 (57,4%) mulheres e 138 (42,6%) homens. A média de idade das mulheres foi de 31,0±19,7 anos e dos homens, de 34,1±19,8 anos (p=0,16). Dos 324 indivíduos da amostra, 215 (66,4%) moravam em área rural e 109 (33,6%) em área periurbana. A maior parte dos indivíduos nasceram no estado de Rio de Janeiro (260/318, 81,8%). A média de escolaridade dos participantes foi de 6,9±3,6 anos, sendo que 269 pessoas (85,4%) frequentaram a escola e sabiam ler e escrever. A média do tempo de moradia no município de Guapimirim foi de 223,9±156,8 meses (18,6 anos). Já o tempo de moradia na localidade foi de 206,2±154,1 meses (17,7 anos) e na casa de 117,9±144,9 meses (9,8 anos). Trinta e seis pessoas (36/324; 11,1%) tiveram diferentes locais de moradias nos últimos cinco anos, dos quais, 20 (55,6%) mudaram dentro do próprio município.

The average educational level of participants was 6.9 ± 3.6 years, 269 persons (85.4%) attended the school and could read and write. The average time of living in the municipality of Guapimirim was 223.9 ± 156.8 months (18.6 years). Already the time of dwelling in the locality was 206.2 ± 154.1 months (17.7 years) and the House of 117.9 ± 144.9 months (9.8 years). 36 people (36/324; 11.1%) had different locations of houses over the past five years, of which, 20 (55.6%) moved within the same County.
