the notion of vampirism has existed for millennia; cultures such as those of Mesopotamia, Ancient Greece, Hebrew, Roman and contained legends of demons and spirits which are considered precursors to modern vampires. However, despite the occurrence of vampire-type creatures in these ancient civilizations, the folklore of the entity we know today as the vampire originates almost exclusively in South-Eastern Europe in the early 18th century .8 when the oral traditions of many ethnic groups in the region were recorded and published. In many cases, vampires are spectra of evil beings, suicide victims, or witches, but they can also be created when an evil spirit has a body or when it is bitten by a vampire. The belief in such legends penetrated both in some regions that caused mass hysteria and even public executions of people believed to be vampires.
